Botox®
Botox cosmetic treatment is a simple non-surgical procedure to smooth the deep,
persistent lines on your face and neck that develop over time. A short
treatment- that involves tiny injections- relaxes the muscles that cause
those lines to form and keeps them relaxed up to four months. The Botox
Cosmetic Treatment is FDA approved and has been widely tested.
Candidates include men and woman who want to look more
youthful and vital. Unlike surgery, Botox Cosmetic is fast simple and minimally
invasive, with no downtime or recovery.
To perform Botox Cosmetic treatment, we will determine
exactly where to administer several tiny injections to achieve the best results.
No anesthesia is required, although a cold pack or a topical anesthetic cream
may be applied prior ro injection. The entire procedure takes approximately
ten minutes. Discomfort is minimal and brief, and it is unlikely you will
develop significant side effects although some patients develop slight temporary
bruising at the injection site, which can be easily covered by makeup.
Within days, you’ll see a marked improvement that may continue to improve
for as long as a week and should last up to four months. Thousands of appearance
conscious woman and men have already discovered the benefits of Botox Cosmetic
treatments.
Collagen (CosmoDerm® and
CosmoPlast®)
Say goodbye to those frown lines. Wrinkles form when the natural collagen
and hyaluronic acid in your skin diminish during the aging process. Lifestyle,
sun, heredity, and pollution are all factors in the course of aging and contribute
to our wrinkles. Collagen provides structure to your skin and hyaluronic
acid
gives volume.
Collagen is a naturally occurring protein that provides
support to various parts of the human body: the skin, joints, bones and ligaments.
CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast are collagen dermal skin fillers made from human
collagen and injected just below the skin’s surface. It helps to smooth
wrinkles, fill in deep furrows and folds and restore the lip border. Dermal
fillers are substances injected just below the skin’s surface to replenish
the collagen layer. CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast fill in lines, wrinkles and
scars from the inside out. They can give you a smoother more youthful appearance
for a temporary amount of time. CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast are made by INAMED
Aesthetics and are approved by the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
to be safe and effective products.
Collagen is different from BOTOX Cosmetic. Botox is a
purified protein injected intramuscularly to smooth the muscles by blocking
nerve impulses. Collagen is a dermal filler injected below a wrinkle, scar,
or depression in order to "fill" it in, smoothing the surface of
the skin. Both products can be used together to achieve optimal aesthetic
results.
CosmoDerm is used to correct fine lines and CosmoPlast
is used in the treatment of deeper lines.
They are human-based collagen treatments and offer a similar
result to that of Zyderm and Zyplast. Conveniently, you do not need a skin
test to be treated with CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast. Zyderm and Zyplast are
produced from a purified bovine (cow) collagen and a skin test is mandatory
28 days before treatment.
In less than 1 hour you can kiss those frown lines goodbye
in the convenience of your own apartment or office. CosmoDerm can fill in
the worry lines on your forehead and the frown lines between your eyebrows.
It can also smooth crow’s feet and fine lines. CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast
can help reduce the lines that appear between your nose and mouth when you
smile. CosmoPlast can help to plump up those lips to make them even more
kissable to that someone special in your life. It can also fill in those
irritating vertical lip lines.
Collagen injections are a simple procedure in which recovery
time is very short. You can resume your normal activities immediately following
treatment and there is no need to take any time off from work. There may
be temporary redness and swelling in the treated area, which should subside
within an hour. Patients can apply makeup, eat, drink, and wear sunblock
right after their treatment. Collagen injections are relatively painless.
A topical or local anesthetic can be applied to the area prior to treatment.
CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast both contain an anesthetic, lidocaine, which helps
to temporarily numb the treatment site. To achieve optimal results, touch-up
injections are recommended two to three times per year. The amount of collagen
used during follow-up treatments is usually less than used in the initial
treatment. Without continuous treatments, the collagen is gradually absorbed
by the body and your face returns to its original contours.
Restylane®
Restylane is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume
and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds, such as the
ones from the nose to the corners of the mouth.
Clinical studies have shown the average Restylane treatment
results can last six months or even longer. Restylane is a cosmetic dermal
filler made of non-animal based hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is an natural
substance in the human body used to provide fullness and volume to the skin.
The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is a crystal-clear gel called NASHA,™ or
Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid. This unique technology helps maintain
the cosmetic effect until the injected material is nearly gone. Restylane
is proven to deliver a longer lasting effect than traditional collagen, so
treatments are typically scheduled twice a rear. (Individual results may
vary.)
Restylane is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultra
fine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort. The procedure is simple
and convenient
and results are practically instantaneous. To optimize your discomfort during
the short procedure, your physician may decide to numb the treatment area.
Advantages: Restylane is different from Botox.
Restylane is a natural, cosmetic filler. Botox is a drug that blocks nerve
transmission and relaxes the underlying muscles. Many patients have been
pleased after receiving treatment with both products.
Based on clinical studies, Restylane treatments produce a low occurrence
of adverse events. The most commonly reported side effects were temporary
redness
and swelling at the injection site. These effects typically resolve within
two to three days.
Sculptra™
Sculptra... a sculpting agent that restores volume to correct the signs
of facial fat loss. Facial fat loss, or lipoatrophy, is the loss of fat beneath the skin, which
can result in sunken cheeks, indentation, and hollow eyes. Sculptra is a
safe, synthetic, and biocompatible material that is injected below the
surface of
the skin in the area of fat loss. It provides a gradual and significant increase
in the skin thickness, improving the appearance of folds and sunken areas.
No skin testing is required
Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) has been safely used outside
the United States since 1999 in over 150,000 patients under the trade name
New-Fill™.
What It Does
Sculptra is an injectable product that restores and corrects the signs
of facial fat loss by replacing lost volume. Sculptra™ provides an
increase in skin thickness, helping to create a more natural facial appearance
in those
with facial lipoatrophy.
Lasting Results
The effects of Sculptra are enduring. In a clinical study, effects lasted
for up to 2 years after the first treatment session in most patients.
The results
from Sculptra are not immediate; Sculptra provides a gradual increase
in skin thickness. Your health care provider will see you are in a few
weeks to decide if additional injections are needed. Touch-up treatments
may be
needed to maintain the desired effects.
People with mild lipoatrophy will require fewer treatments
than those with severe lipoatrophy.
Chemical Peel
Chemical peel is a non-invasive technique of
resurfacing the skin’s top
layers. It can produce a smoother, tighter, younger-looking skin surface.
It can be used for the full-face or in limited
areas. Candidates include men and women who have wrinkled blemished,
unevenly pigmented, or sun-damaged facial skin.
There are various types of chemical solutions used in
peels: phenol and TCA are the most common. During the procedure, we will
apply different concentrations of the chemical solution on the areas of your
face. There is no need for dressing after the procedure. We will explain
the different techniques and suggest the best one for you.
We also offer non-surgical alternatives through our line of quality cosmetics
and skin care products. The efficacy of most skin care products on the market
is minute, so make sure you are purchasing products that work. In our professional
judgement, the products we recommend are the most likely to give you the results
you are looking for.
Radiesse™
Radiesse is a non-surgical facial contouring filler that delivers an immediate,
longer lasting result. Radiesse is an injectable compound of calcium hydroxylapatite
suspended in an aqueous gel. It is an excellent filler for nasolabial folds,
marionette lines, oral commissurae, and deep rhytides.
The unique composition of radiesse provides immediate
visual improvement common with other fillers, along with the benefit of long-lasting
results. This is because Radiesse is made of very tiny, smooth (CaHA) microspheres.
These particles form a scaffold through which your body’s own collagen
grows, and this produces the desired long-term effect.
Radiesse will be injected under the skin in a continuous
stream through a very fine needle into the appropriate facial planes needed
for augmentation and contouring. As a non-surgical approach, Radiesse treatment
involves a simple procedure that can be completed quickly and conveniently.
Typically you will see some mild swelling or redness at the injection site
that may last 1-2- days. In most cases, you can return to your routine activities
immediately following the procedure. We will provide you with any specific
instructions.
The placement of Radiesse provides volume and correction
without the need to over correct. Therefore, your physician can mold, shape,
and sculpt your face to provide immediate and optimal improvement.
Sclerotherapy (spider
veins)
Millions of women complain about their annoying spider veins. Spider veins
are those small yet unsightly clusters of red, blue or purple veins that most
commonly appear on the thighs, calves and ankles. It is estimated that at least
half of the adult female population is plagued with this common cosmetic problem.
Today, many plastic surgeons are treating spider veins
with sclerotherapy. In this rather simple procedure, veins are injected with
a sclerosing solution, which causes them to collapse and fade from view.
The procedure may also remedy the bothersome symptoms associated with spider
veins, including burning, swelling and night cramps.
Sclerotherapy can enhance your appearance and your self confidence, but
it’s
unrealistic to believe that every affected vein will disappear completely as
a result of treatment. After each sclerotherapy session, the veins will appear
lighter. Two or more sessions are usually required to achieve optimal results. The
procedure treats only those veins that are currently visable; it does nothing
to permanently alter the venous system or prevent
new veins from surfacing in the future. Before you decide to have sclerotherapy,
think carefully about your expectations and discuss them with your doctor.
